IPL Treatment

Traditionally, DED has been treated with a combination of eye drops and medication to reduce inflammation. Most people know how difficult it is to maintain compliance with drug and drop regimes. IPL is an adjunct therapy that offers a low maintenance alternative.

IPL is natural light that is filtered to allow only a few specific wavelengths through to the area to be treated. The energy from the light is absorbed by the blood vessels that supply the eyes and reduces the inflammation in the eyelids.
